Tinker AFB Project Completed Early with Zero Punchlist Items

MIGO Construction Group, Inc. (MIGO) is proud to highlight the successful completion of this design-build HVAC and envelope improvement project at Tinker Air Force Base. This project is a testament to our team's commitment to rapid execution in federal construction without compromising quality and safety.

Despite the complexity of the scope and the need to work within an occupied and operational warehouse, our team completed the project 38 days ahead of schedule — with zero punchlist items at turnover.

The primary goal of this design-build project was to provide conditioned space in three previously unconditioned warehouses without disrupting end-user operations. Key elements of the project included:

• Design and engineering of new HVAC systems serving three warehouses;
• New electrical service — including a transformer, two panelboards, and disconnects — installed using existing underground conduits to minimize disruption;
• Installation of three split-system HVAC units, with the heat pumps placed on elevated wall brackets for access and ease of maintenance, and the fan-coil units mounted adjacent to the perimeter walls to preserve storage and access throughout the space;
• Mechanical scope including ductwork, motorized dampers, air devices, and localized controls throughout each warehouse;
• Thermal envelope upgrades: new batt insulation, gypsum board, spray-foam sealing, and mortar skim coats at structural openings; and
• Mold remediation, with all interior walls cleaned and treated.

The project's heavy mechanical and electrical scope, paired with the challenges of working in an occupied, operational facility, required constant communication and coordination with the end-user. We're proud to have delivered a project that not only meets but exceeds expectations — ensuring energy efficiency, comfort, and longevity for critical Air Force operations.
